As the new academic year approaches, it’s time to make the most of that “back to school” energy and create a vision for the months ahead. In nature, the first signs of this year passing will be creeping in, bringing with it the understanding that as we move into the fullness of the harvest, it’s time too to start to gently plan for the new season to come.
Our creating a vision event taps into this energy and sense of new beginnings, encouraging us to consider the future we want to create and commit to steps to bring that to fruition. We’ll start, as we often do, with some yoga. Designed to get us feeling into our bodies, opening hearts and building energy, we’ll enjoy a gentle 40 minute flow, before moving directly to a guided visualisation designed to bring to mind our hopes and desires for the months ahead. We’ll then embark on the powerful (and fun!) process of creating a vision board; something to take home and act as a visual prompt on a day basis to keep us on track. And finally, we’ll commit to the vision we’ve created by writing to ourselves in a letter writing workshop.
I’ll be joined for the afternoon by two very inspiring co-teachers: Hayley Henderson will be leading our yoga practice, a welcome return after her sold out Blossoming event in the Spring. And new to the garden, Bryony Calcott (aka @thehappypostlady) will be guiding us through the letter writing process.
After the formal sessions end, there’ll be time to wander the gardens (at their flowery peak come mid-August), take a dip in the natural swimming pond or simply find a shady spot to sit awhile in peace. And, as always, there’ll be delicious homemade cakes and seasonal herbal teas to round off the event.
The event will be raising funds for the charity Reprieve, a human rights charity that inspires us all the time with its own vision to defend marginalised people who are facing human rights abuses.
Numbers are limited to 15, and joining instructions, including a list of things to bring along, will be emailed to you a few days ahead of time.
** Please note that this is an outdoor event. If the weather is inclement on 14 August, we’ll rearrange the event and refund in full any ticket holder who can’t make the rescheduled retreat **
